2008 Phoebus Days Grand Marshal

We are honored that Kathy Gear Owens, a Hampton native and long-time supporter of Phoebus and Phoebus Days, served as Grand Marshal for the 2008 Phoebus Days parade.

For more years than anyone can remember, Ms. Owens has held leadership roles in Phoebus Days activities and we were pleased that she accepted the title as our way of recognizing her tireless work.

Beyond her involvement in this yearly celebration of small-town life, Ms. Owens has been active in The Phoebus Civic Association, the American Legion Auxiliary, and Girls State events.

Ms. Owens is a graduate of Kecoughtan High School, the University of Richmond's Westhampton College, and the College of William and Mary's Marshall-Wythe School of Law.

An attorney, she is a member of numerous professional organizations.

She is the daughter of Mrs. Anna Gear and the late Thomas J. Gear.
